New Years Resolution 2008

Last year, I made a few resolutions (1, 2, and 3). Out of the three, I was able to keep one. So this year, I decided to even out the odds and I'm only going to have ONE New Year's Resolution: Stop Biting My Nails.
I have been biting my nails since I was a little kid, and I imagine it will not be easy breaking a habit that is 25 years old. So I enlisted a little help. I purchased this nail polish on amazon.com* that pretty much tastes like arse.
Regardless on how gay I look when I put on this nail polish (not to mention the lipstick), it seems to work. I have not bitten my nails in a pretty long time. They are even starting to grow out! However, I am noticing a problem with the polish. While I no longer bite my nails, I also have to be careful about eating finger foods especially when I want to lick my fingers. It happens quite a bit and I always feel like an idiot for forgetting.
I hope to keep my resolution this year. So far so good, and I'm on my way to the glamorous world of having finger nails.

*A side note about amazon.com, a friend and husband of one of my coworkers just got a job there. Congratulations, Andy!

From The DUH Department...

Baltimore newspaper reported today that there are fewer Pearl Harbor survivors alive today that at any time since the attack.
I guess if that number starts going up, THEN we have a problem.

How Picturesque

I forgot that I actually HAD something to say when I finished my last post. I bought a new camera.

It is a Canon Digital Rebel XT Digital SLR. IT is by far the coolest and most complicated camera I have ever bought (I'm a child of the point-and-shoots). The package deal came with three lenses: 55mm, 300mm zoom, and a wide-angle lens. I am hoping that this inspires me to become more serious about photography and maybe capture better images. I will be taking a Photoshop class when I get to Houston, so all of you will be witnesses to my wondrous (horrible) creations.

But for now, I have to do a few things first, like read the instruction book, look for photography tips, and find out how the hell I was able to take the above picture...

You Can't Even Make This Up

Since I haven't updated in a while (thanks Cortney), I decided to do the easy thing and just post a news article I found. It is quite shocking (ouch).

The Big News

Well, most of you may already know. The news is: I'm straight. Oh, and I'm also moving to Texas.
The move came about when my company won a contract with NASA down in Houston. The manager of that office is a close friend of mine and told me that they will be putting an ad out for employees who wish to transfer. I got all my paperwork ready, applied, and was accepted into the position.
I flew down to Houston for a week to look for apartments and to meet the customer. I couldn't be happier. Everybody down there was nice, the weather is nice and hot, and beer flows as if God himself was a bartender.
I will be driving down to Houston from Maryland, so those friends who live on the way (I'm looking at you, Dave and Dan) may get a quick visit. If I feel like it. And you buy me lunch. With happy ending.
I start my new job on August 1st.

Vista Released Today!

In celebration of Microsoft's new operating system, here is a video of some of the "new" features available in Vista, which have been available for at least a year in a half in Apple's OSX. The voice-over is from a Microsoft conference, the video shows Apple's OSX.
